SantroVélo’s Annual Spring Tune-Up – Take 2!

Events, Fundraising, News, SantroVelo

If you missed last month’s spring bicycle tune-up, never fear! Our community bike shop, SantroVélo, will be holding its 2nd Spring Tune-Up of the season! This event falls just in time for the 3rd edition of Urban Bike Week organized by the Montreal Bike Coalition.

On tune-up day, volunteer bike mechanics offer a basic check-up and will do the repairs on 2 or 3 things that need a bit of love, for example, brake/shifter adjustment, tightening of loose bearings, lubing chains, or changing tires. Tune-up day is the only time of year when mechanics will do the repairs for you! This is a great chance to fix up your bike AND support a worthy cause.

  • When: Saturday May 23rd from 12 to 5pm
  • Where: The alley next to the Roulant, 111 Roy east
  • What: Bike tune-ups, BBQing, cycling, and good ol’ neighbourhood hangout fun!
  • Cost: $15 for a tune-up OR $25 for a tune-up + year long bike shop membership.

Note that if you have major repairs to do on your bicycle, it’s best to come in to the shop during regular hours to get some help. Yearly memberships cost $15 and you can consult our opening hours here on our website. Generally we invite people to come learn how to do the repairs themselves, with guidance and support from those who are more experienced.
