Volunteering at the farm in 2024

Agriculture, Featured, Senneville Farm

Recently, we provided you with updates on the changes happening at the Roulant’s farm in Senneville this year, as well as the volunteer shift schedule that many of you are used to.

While unfortunately we won’t have the usual weekly farm volunteer shifts this year, there will be several opportunities throughout the 2024 season for you to get involved! Shifts will be announced monthly for the upcoming weeks, allowing you to plan ahead and participate in activities at your convenience.

❗️This year, volunteering at the farm will begin the first week of May.

SHIFT SCHEDULE:
  • Wednesday May 1rst
  • Wednesday May 8th
  • Wednesday May 15th

Shifts are from 8:15 to noon, with the option of sticking around for lunch with the team!

How to sign up
  • If you are already a Roulant volunteer, call us at 514-284-9335 or text Adrienne at the farm at 438-543-9948. Otherwise…
Getting to the farm
What to bring:
  • Appropriate clothing: hat, good boots or shoes, rain gear if necessary, etc.
  • Water bottle and snacks
  • A lunch if you want to stay and eat with the team
What to expect:
  • In the spring, work on the farm is quite physical and includes preparing the soil, planting seedlings, spreading seed and installing infrastructure.
  • We can always accommodate you according to your needs and capacities. If possible, let us know in advance if you have any specific accessibility requirements.
Accessibility
  • The ground at the farm is quite uneven and bumpy, and the paths are not accessible for walkers or wheelchairs.
  • We have areas that are shaded or covered from the weather.
  • There is drinking water on site and an accessible chemical toilet.

Keep an eye out for the next newsletter for upcoming farm volunteering opportunities.
