On meal days, our kitchen scraps are placed in designate bins for composting or vermicomposting.
Moreover, most of our food purchases are made ??locally and allow us to reduce our environmental impact, while also supporting our farmers. In recent years, we’ve also made an extra effort to purchase only organic flour and sugar, and we’re likewise proud that 90% of our meats are organic!
Biking makes a difference
We are proud to be known as the Meals-on-Wheels that delivers meals by bike! With tailor-made bags to keep the meals safe and warm, and through the power of our volunteers’ legs, hundreds of meals a week are delivered by bicycle to the homes of our client-members. Keep an eye out for our red bags on the bike paths and streets of our Meals-on-Wheels delivery territory.
