Fundraising for Social Change
Fundraising at Santropol Roulant is less about the “the big cheque” and more about building strong networks of goodwill and moral support. It is less about making the “big sale” and more about building strong and lasting ties with our community by working together honestly and openly to improve the world we live in.
Even if you don’t have the time to volunteer, you can still help us out. Santropol Roulant survives with little core and recurrent support from federal or provincial governments. However, thanks to the generosity of individual donors, private foundations, and local businesses, over the years we have been able to continue expanding and deepening the scope of our activities.
Santropol Roulant is a nationally registered Canadian charity (#140 717 414 RR 0001).
We can issue official Canadian charitable tax receipts for donations.
Digging deeper
Our philosophy is that fundraising is not a job that someone does, but a program that we are all responsible for and in which we are all actively engaged.
While all good ideas need money to thrive, the most important stereotype we break through our fundraising efforts is the following: it doesn’t need to happen in the dark corners and shadows of an organization.
We make it visible, accessible, fun and successful. Our “Fundraising for Social Change” program is grounded in our mission and provides meaningful opportunities for staff, board, volunteers, neighbours and donors to become actively involved in raising funds and supporting Santropol Roulant. These funds go directly to our programs and our vision, and it is our role to provide all participants with the skills or motivation they need to succeed.
Why? Because no matter how much money we raise, at the end of the year the funds are well allocated and well spent. And all that is left is the energy, the excitement and the sense of shared purpose.
At Santropol Roulant, we have developed an amazing fundraising program that is built not on the heroic and solitary efforts of any one individual, but on the active support, participation and passion of many. This collective sense of accomplishment permeates everything we do, and we like it that way.
