Young People

Founded in 1995 by a gaggle of passionate and visionary young adults, the Roulant continues to be operated and sustained by the young (and the young at heart!); we remain a youth-centred organization.

The Roulant’s staff and volunteers are a motley crew of energetic and passionate individuals who choose to become engaged in the community, contributing positively just as much to the lives of others as to their own lives.

Since our first day back in 1995, thousands of Montreal’s youth have worked either as volunteers or staff. Along the way, they have dared to try new and different approaches to working, and have proven to be devoted, creative and competent people.

What might the effect of such youthful participation be? Well, the Roulant is a tightly-knit organization whose collective spirit of ‘why not?’ keeps it young and keeps it evolving. At the same time, our desire to nurture new friendships and collaborations within Montreal keeps our initiatives relevant and inspiring, and encourages new people to gravitate to the Roulant to assert their place in the community.
