The Meals-on-Wheels is an essential service that helps keep seniors with a loss of autonomy or with limited mobility active in their community. We have made every effort since the beginning of the pandemic to create special moments between these clients and other members of the Roulant community, all while keeping safety a top priority.
Due to the increase in cases of COVID-19 in Quebec in general, and the positive tests of several members of the community, we unfortunately had no choice but to cancel the intergenerational event that was to be held last Thursday. This event would have brought together team members, volunteers, donors, and of course, clients.
To continue to build relationships in a safe way, we have chosen to bring the joy of the holiday season to our clients’ doorsteps. Over the course of the week, volunteers will be delivering cards and other goodies to the Roulant to bring goodwill, warmth, and sweets to people across Montreal.
The next few weeks will be crucial for the Roulant community. If you can, please come out and volunteer, make a donation, or send a message to your community! We are taking steps to ensure the health and safety of everyone in our community and we are counting on you to be part of the effort.
