It’s time to say goodbye to some of the members of the Roulant’s great team. As sad as it is for us, we know that deep down our friends are leaving for new adventures to contribute to social change and to participate to a more just world beyond the Roulant’s scope.
Aïda Setbel
Over his past year at the Roulant, Aïda has been a key member of the kitchen as a community cook. Not only was he appreciated as a part of the team because of his passion for the impact of food on community, but he also has a great sense of humour; exceptional listening skills; thoughtful contributions to our committee dedicated to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion; and a much appreciated aptitude for taking care of the Roulant’s office plants. This summer, Aïda will be continuing his community-oriented, grassroots work journey as a horticulture educator for Sentier Urbain.
Aidan Vorolieff
Aidan has been a wonderful member of the kitchen team at the Roulant since 2019, and for the last two years she has been our Kitchen Programs Manager. She is known by the staff for her kindness, her positive attitude, and her proactive willingness to jump in and lend a helping hand. Aidan’s next chapter will involve living in the Eastern Townships and working on an organic farm!
Floriane Defaut
From March 2021 to March 2022, Floriane was one of our Meal-on-Wheels Outreach Workers. Her passion for social connection for seniors, her professionalism, and her warm personality all make her a joy to work alongside. She will be dearly missed at the Roulant, but we know that she will thrive in her new role as a team manager for Petits Frères de Montréal.
Hope Jesper
Hope spent six months as a Community Cook at the Roulant. They were integral to kitchen tasks, and also known for being completely ambidextrous and incredibly artistically inclined. Her legacy lives on in part through the beautifully funky signs that she designed for our kitchen. Hope has moved on to work in urban agriculture for Innovation Youth, where we know that they will flourish! We are thrilled to know that she plans to spend time around the Roulant as a volunteer moving forward.
