Today, India celebrates its Independence Day, and we thought it a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the country with two particularly inspiring videos about food cooking and food delivery services.
The first inspiring video introduces us to dabbawallas (who are also sometimes referred to as tiffin wallas). The low-tech service that these often illiterate men provide is astoundingly effective, particularly given that the city they operate in, Mumbai, has been expanding and densifying dramatically in the last few decades.
The second project, in the holy town of Shirdi, showcases yet another low-tech solution to providing food. This time, the video showcases the world’s largest solar cooking system. Who knows, maybe one day the Roulant will have solar cookers of its own!
