SantroVélo held its 1st spring tune-up fundraiser of the season a few weeks ago and in spite of the snow in the parking lot and the spitting rain, it was a big success, raising over $900 for our community bike shop, and helping participants get back on the road safely.
If you missed it, our 2nd spring tune-up fundraiser is this Saturday May 3rd.
- Basic Tune-up: $15
- Basic Tune-up + 1 Year Membership to SantroVélo: $25
If you’ve been to the tune-up before, you know that volunteer bike mechanics offer a basic check-up (brakes, shifting, bottom bracket, headset, wheel axles, and tires) and will do minor repairs. The tune-up day is the only time of year when mechanics will do the repairs for you; generally we invite people to come learn how to do the repairs themselves, with guidance and support from those who are more experienced.
Note that if you need major repairs, best to come in to the shop during regular hours to get some help. Yearly memberships cost $15 and you can consult our opening hours here.
If you haven’t been before, what are you waiting for? This is a great chance to fix up your bike AND support a worthy cause! See you on Saturday May 3rd from 12 to 5pm in the alley next to the Roulant for some BBQing, cycling, and good ol’ neighbourhood hangout fun.
