If you are already a volunteer at the Roulant, you can sign up for shifts in urban agriculture by giving us a call at 514-284-9335 or talk to us at the Roulant. If you’d like to become a volunteer, sign up here to complete a one hour welcome session. There will also be a special welcome session for new volunteers interested in urban agriculture on May 19th from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM – give us a call to sign up!
Please note that volunteers under 16 years of age are welcome, but need to be accompanied by an adult.
What to know about volunteering in Urban Agriculture
Cancellation
We don’t cancel shifts in urban agriculture on account of rain, but fear not – rain gear is available at all three of our sites! Shifts are only cancelled in case of thunder or extreme heat.
If you can’t make it to a shift in urban agriculture, please let us know as soon as possible.
Accommodations
We are more than happy to accommodate your needs or adjust a task for you. Both levels of our rooftop gardens are wheelchair accessible by elevator. Let us know how we can accommodate you!
Location
Two of our gardens (the rooftop garden and the Terasses Roy) are located at the Roulant at 111 Roy Street East. The third garden, La Cité-des-Hospitalières (La Cité), is located at 251 Avenue des Pins and requires a 5 minute walk into the site. We recommend that if it’s your first time volunteering in this garden, show up slightly early to make sure you don’t get lost!
