It’s official: the Roulant is turning thirty! What better way to celebrate all we’ve achieved together than at our annual block party / open house, Rue Fermier? That’s right–you’re invited to a magic evening of summer fun, delicious food, and joyful community engagement. Come celebrate 30 years of magic with this incredible community.
When: Thursday, July 17th from 4 – 9 PM
Where: Santropol Roulant, 111 rue Roy Est (on the Terrasses Roy & throughout the building)
Here’s what’s in store for this magical evening:
Parade: An exciting celebration of the Roulant; past, present and future–with puppets and music! The parade will be departing from Park Jeanne Mance, at the Esplanade and Duluth corner, at 4:30PM. We’ll pass by the Roulant’s first location, wave at cafe Santropol, and arrive at Rue Fermier for all to join the festivities.
Scavenger hunt: An all ages opportunity to discover all the magic of the Roulant, floor by floor.
Live music: Rue Fermier will feature brass band La Fanfare d’occasion as well as a trad music set, followed by a DJ to close out the night. Bring your dancing shoes–a line dance is also a part of these festivities.
Kids corner: Fun, games, and face painting!
Magic: Magician le grand Alexandre will be mingling and performing his magic–not to be missed.
Live mural painting: Sneak a peek at the Roulant’s new and in-progress mural.
Programs, collectives, and partners: Learn more about all the programs, partners, and collectives that make up the Roulant’s activities.
Guided tours: In both English and French throughout the evening.
Food: Pasta salad, grilled vegetable & seitan sandwiches on homemade focaccia, grilled corn salad, cucumber lime mint popsicles, cotton candy, and popcorn.
