A staff in rotation

After four years at the Roulant on the Fundraising & Communications team, our very own Kate is moving on. Kate will be continuing to work in food security at Second Harvest Canada, a national organization that works to redistribute food to people in need across the country. Her spreadsheet expertise, knitting advice, and the delicious baked goods and preserves she shares with colleagues and volunteers will be dearly missed. We’ve been very lucky to have Kate on the team and can’t wait to see what this new role will bring!

This February, the Roulant will be seeing the return of Rachel Jordan as the new Urban Agriculture Program Manager. Last summer, Rachel joined the gardens team as seasonal co-coordinator while finishing her botany degree. Rachel’s familiarity with the Roulant gardens, where she also previously worked as a herbalist and gardener with Jardins Résilients (an initiative offering therapeutic horticultural workshops in urban agriculture to Indigenous people experiencing homelessness) is a massive asset to the Roulant community. Her work with Jardin pour tous de Milton-Parc and the Women’s Centre of Montreal also demonstrate her commitment to community and inclusion. We are lucky to have Rachel and her warm spirit, deep love of plants, and wealth of knowledge back on the team. Drop by to say hi anytime!
