Volunteering at the farm

Agriculture, Featured, Senneville Farm, Volunteering - Personal

In 2025, the farm is undertaking a major construction project that will greatly expand the scope of our activities, impact, and accessibility. As a result, we will not be growing any seedlings or annual crops this year, other than our famous garlic fields that will continue to benefit the Meals-on-Wheels. During their hibernation, our fields will be protected and nourished by cover crops all throughout the season.

However, it will still be possible to be involved in the farm through ad-hoc volunteer shifts and community farm days. Community farm days are festive days centered around big collective tasks in the garlic fields. Here is the general schedule — stay tuned for confirmed dates and more details a few weeks before the dates.

  • Garlic scape harvest: mid June
  • Garlic harvest: end of July
  • Garlic planting: beginning of October

This year, volunteering at the farm will begin the first week of May. Every newsletter we will announce farm volunteering shifts for the upcoming weeks. They will also be posted on the Roulant blackboard. Note: the shifts are not recurring on a regular schedule.

Hours

Shifts are from 8:15 AM to noon, with the option of staying for lunch with the team! For carpooling, departure from the Roulant is at 7:15 AM.
