2025 at the farm

Senneville Farm

It has been a peculiar year for the Roulant Farm: a small team with no seasonal staff and a singular focus on managing the construction of new inclusive and educational infrastructure.

Construction of the new Agroeducational Centre began in the month of May and finishing touches will take place over the winter. We are so excited to welcome the team and volunteers in the Spring, and we are already dreaming of the epic inauguration party to come.

Meanwhile, our “cathedral” greenhouse has also gone through big changes – the plastic covering was changed and furnaces have been installed in order to start the production of organic vegetable and flower seedlings for the benefit of the community in March 2026.

Despite vegetable production taking a well-deserved break this season in order to rest and replenish the earth, there was still lots happening in the fields! The educational transition is speeding up and several areas of the farm were transformed in order to create educational opportunities for participants of all ages.

With the support of community members and volunteers, we inaugurated our orchard by planting 18 hardy fruit trees – apples, apricots and sour cherries. We also planted asparagus, kiwis, grapes and haskap berries–perennials which will feed the community for years to come and diversify our harvests. Additionally, two fields were reorganized in order to create a youth centred garden. To finish the season, 7,500 garlic cloves were planted to ensure an abundant harvest in 2026.

A huge thank you to the 27 dedicated volunteers who came out to the farm despite the unusual season. The preservation and transformation of that magical place would not be possible without you. The farm can’t wait to welcome you back to start the season in May 2026!

Happy hibernating,

Adrienne
