About the collective
Les Fruits Défendus is an urban fruit-harvesting collective founded in 2011 in Montréal. By fostering connections between fruit tree owners and volunteers pickets, the collective looks forward to make a better use of urban fruits which would otherwise rot on Montreal’s courtyards and alleyways ground.
Our principle objectives are:
- Reduce food waste
- Make good use of local food and increase its accessibility
- Facilite knowledge sharing on urban fruit harvest
- Encourage community involvement
