We recently had the pleasure of welcoming two groups of corporate volunteers to our farm in Senneville. Despite the rain, which fell throughout most of the day, the teams from Transat and Sobeys were numerous and enthusiastic!
On May 26th, 18 Transat employees went to the farm to do some rock picking, seeding, and a variety of other tasks to help prepare the grounds for the beginning of the agricultural season. France Coutu, one of the organizers of the day, summed up the experience by saying, “we very much enjoyed our day and returned home tired out, but happy.” Transat also made a financial donation to support our programs and activities. A big thank you to the entire team for their hard work and generosity on that day!
On June 5th, 7 Sobeys employees went to the farm to continue the work in the fields, including weeding, installation of plastic mulch, and more. Louise Lambert, who organised the activity, said, “everyone very much appreciated their experience, even if the sun was not shining. The manner in which they were welcomed as well as the information given with regard to the history of the property and the organization’s values were very inspiring.” Sobeys also contributed financially to the Roulant for this team building activity. We are very thankful to them for their help and support!
A great big thank you goes out to both of these corporate groups. If you are interested in finding out more about group volunteering opportunities for your business or company, please see the Corporate Volunteering section on our website, and email Ben or call him at 514-284-9335.
