Earlier this month, over 90 guests, staff and volunteers feasted and raised funds together at the Harvest Feast Fundraiser. Attendees, donors and event sponsors gave over $22,280 towards our accessible gardens and inclusive agriculture systems, while generous sponsors provided almost $8,000 in in-kind gifts. This means that a total of $30,280 was contributed to the fundraiser!
This year’s event took a different approach and a new formula. The intimate, high-end cocktail allowed us to put a stronger focus on fundraising and it was hosted for the very first time in our beautiful and accessible second floor and terrace. Guests tasted delicious bouchées created by Robin des Bois, were surrounded by jazz music performed by Evan Shay and Aime Duquet, and were surprised by an impromptu live operatic rendition of Brindisi (‘The Drinking Song’) performed by Frédérique Drolet.
For the first time ever, guests were enthusiastic participants in a live auction that, in addition to being a highlight of the evening, contributed immensely to the financial success of the evening. Our dynamic auctioneer Chad Lubelsky charmed the crowd into bidding and out-bidding each other for 10 diverse auction packages. Our generous guests also pooled funds together to gift an innovative and accessible Alinker walking bike to a Santropol Roulant client in need.
See the many fantastic photos of this event below and on Facebook, taken by our photographers Ansh Goyal and Vivian Li.
