Fond Memories Of The Volunteer Community

Staff

Dear volunteers,

I haven’t had the chance to share this news with most of you in person, but I wanted to share with you that I have left the Roulant at the end of March. This summer, I’m hoping to explore Quebec on my bicycle and, in September, I’ll be returning to university to develop an education program for young immigrants and refugees.

Although I’m excited for the new adventures that await me, I also feel very sad to be leaving the Roulant. This community has had such an incredible impact on my life in Montreal and I want to thank each and every one of you for all the joy and beauty you have brought into my life since I arrived at the Roulant in 2018. I feel deeply lucky to have had the chance to meet you all and I carry with me many fond memories of the wonderful volunteers at the Roulant. What a pleasure it has been to get to know you all and to better understand why you give so much of your time and energy to caring for your community! My relationships with you all have meant an awful lot to me and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you give to the Roulant.

Rest assured that I won’t be going far – I will still be in Montreal and I’m sure we will meet again someday when we are once again able to dance under the stars together on the Terrasses Roy. Until then, I’m sending you all my gratitude for everything you have given to the Roulant community and to me personally. You are superheroes, every last one of you, and the work of the Roulant would not be possible without you.

See you soon,

Ellen
