On December 14, members of the community joined together for a festive holiday event at the Roulant. This year’s event was a particularly special occasion where community members from across programs were invited to come together: clients of the Meals-on-Wheels, volunteers, community partner organizations, and friends of the Roulant. All told, around 150 guests gathered under the Roulant roof, but, as the saying goes, “the more, the merrier.”
During the event, guests had the opportunity to unleash their inner child and some fun through the activities on offer: engaging in the art of origami and crafting paper snowflakes, guided by volunteers Abbey Smith and Elizabeth-Anne Malischewski, playing ping pong on the second floor, or having lively conversations. In the close-knit community of the Roulant, there’s always a lot to talk about! Attendees embraced the chance to connect, swap stories, and savor the delightful dinner together.
A highlight of the evening was the festive menu, lovingly prepared by the kitchen team, taking into account various dietary needs. This featured savoury hand pies, salads, hot beverages, and a dessert table led by the magnificent Bûche de Noël.
This event was made possible thanks to the support of our many event volunteers in the kitchen, those driving and accompanying clients of the Meals-on-Wheels, and those on setup, decoration, and cleanup duty.
