It’s official: spring is back, and so are agricultural volunteer shifts at the Roulant! This is your chance to get involved in social agriculture with community impact.
To kick off the season, we’re organizing a bilingual volunteer information session on Monday, April 20th at 11am with a special focus on the agricultural programs. Sign up here.

Shift schedule
During the growing season from May to October, there are four to five shifts a week in urban agriculture on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
Shifts will start the week of May 4th with the first shift on Tuesday May 5th.
Morning shifts are from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM.Afternoon shifts are from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

The Roulant’s gardens
The Roulant has three urban agriculture sites:
- The Terrasses Roy: Street level public gardens located directly outside the Roulant (111 rue Roy E)
- The Rooftop Gardens: Located on the second and third floor of Santropol Roulant.
- The La Cité Garden: Located at 251 ave. des Pins Ouest, with washroom access and running water at the entrance (about a five minute walk from the garden).
What to bring
- Appropriate clothing: hat, good boots or shoes, rain gear if necessary, etc. The Roulant also has backup rain gear, hats, and shoes if needed.
- Water bottle and sunscreen
What to expect
- Tasks involving all manner of horticulture and urban agriculture : planting, weeding, watering, mulching, harvesting, installing nets and poles, cleaning and more!
- We can always accommodate you according to your needs and capacities. If possible, let us know in advance if you have any specific accessibility requirements.
Accessibility
- Our two sites at the Roulant, the rooftop gardens and the Terrasses Roy, are at ground level or accessible by elevator. Each site has access to drinking water and bathrooms.
