An Inclusive Event
This event welcomes people of many generations and walks of life. In celebration of the Roulant’s 20th anniversary, we invite all past, present and future community members to take part. Special guests Chris Godsall and Keith Fitzpatrick, Santropol Roulant’s founders, will be joining us from BC.
The Roulant Timeline, a retrospective exposition of the past 20 years of the organization, will be a meeting point for old and new members to connect and share stories.
“We are excited to celebrate the community effort that has made Santropol Roulant a food asset for Montreal over the past 20 years,” says Vani Jain, Chair of the Board of Directors.
A Flavorful Agenda
The evening will be divided into three parts, beginning with tours of the Roulant, kids activities, and workshops on agriculture, urban beekeeping, urban fruit harvesting, bicycle repair, food preservation and more.
At 7pm, accomplished chefs and community teams kick off the Iron Chef culinary competition using vegetables harvested fresh from our gardens. You be the judge and taste deliciously creative bouchées from each team: Fabergé, The Green Panther, Sushi Momo, Icehouse, Café M, la Centrale Culinaire, Learning From our Elders community team and the NDG Food Depot.
“Santropol Roulant’s Iron Chef competition is one that is not to be missed for me” says Stephanie Audet from the Centrale Culinaire team. “To cook for an event that puts forward community, eco-responsibilty, freshness, and awareness about what’s on your plate is a must! And all in the best possible atmosphere; filled with smiles!
Live music includes Bill Bland and the Wheel Club, Dans l’champ jazzband, and wrapping up with The Chaotic insurrection ensemble and DJ Sammy on the dance floor!
