Last week, 80 Meals-on-Wheels clients, volunteers and staff came together to share a warm and festive moment at the Roulant during our annual holiday brunch. Once again, the most popular event among our meals-on-wheels community was a great success! (Photos below!)
Guests gathered in office, beautifully decorated by Gianhi and a handful of artistic volunteers. We were enchanted by musical performances by accordionist Wilfred Buchanan and the Monday Night Choir (who reinterpreted Bowie and the Beatles for the occasion).
Guests’ taste buds were kept happy too with some tender turkey and vegetarian pie, served with vegetables, home-made cranberry sauce and mushroom sauce… not to mention apple cake! All of this delicious food was prepared with love by our dedicated kitchen crew: a team of 10 volunteers coordinated by kitchen co-managers Jeremie and Karine, all of whom spent three days cooking!
A warm thank you to our volunteers (long-time allies and new recruits alike!) who made all this happen by helping with set-up, service, cleaning, offering rides and of course keeping good company! Thank you also to our photographer of the day, Alison Slattery, who truly captured the spirit of the event! And finally, thank you to the Monday Night Choir for their amazing presence and the CDs offered to some of our lucky guests!
Thank you to our Donors
The Meals-on-Wheels program is subsidized by many stakeholders: government, foundations, companies and individuals. A sincere thank you to all these donors who help make such special social inclusion events possible four times a year.
