Would you like to make an impact in the world of urban agriculture in Montreal, all while enjoying the sweet nourishing fruits of your labour?
Then this is your chance! Les Fruits défendus is recruiting new core committee members to join its all-volunteer community!
The collective’s mission is to reduce food waste, increase its accessibility to local food and to facilitate knowledge-sharing about urban fruit harvesting.
We need motivated new members to join and continue our mission of the collective by supporting, promoting and overseeing local fruit harvests, organizing fun activities and sharing our work across the community. Each core member brings a different skill to share, all the while developing their leadership skills. No experience necessary.
Throughout the year, Les Fruits défendus’ core, composed of roughly ten members, ensures that the collective functions effectively in its harvesting of urban fruit. Our tasks are quite varied, from organizing fundraising events and special harvests to strategic planning for the collective, to name just a couple of examples! Each member chooses which tasks he/she will be responsible for.
We would ask that each member dedicates between three and five hours per week to the collective, but we’re flexible! Our weekly meetings are on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, but again, we’re flexible, so please let us know if you’re not available on Mondays.
If you’re interested, please contact us at info@lesfruitsdefendus.org! We look forward to welcoming you to the heart of our core! To learn more about Les Fruits défendus, please visit our website.
Look forward to seeing you soon!
