School may be out for summer, but learning in the gardens never stops! While the urban agriculture team is busy now welcoming day camps including Camp Cosmos and Camp ARMP (Association Récréative Milton Parc), we’re ready to look ahead to the coming school year to ensure more youth of all ages can learn about and participate in the food cycle.
Are you an educator or community worker working with youth between the ages of 5 to 18? You could plan an activity with us at the Roulant’s gardens at la Cité-des-Hospitalières or the farm in Senneville. Participants will learn about where our food comes from through educational games like farm bingo, taste the fruits of their harvest, and enjoy the fresh fall air in the city or the country. The end of the agricultural season is a great time for youth of all ages to participate in harvests and the cyclical process of growing food.
If you would like to bring a group of youth to the gardens or the farm, or if you have any questions, get in touch with Adrienne by email adrienne@santropolroulant.org or 514-284-9335. We would love to collaborate and get our hands dirty with you!
See you in the gardens,
– The urban agriculture team
