After several days of Meals-on-Wheels service, we received a call from this new client who was not sure that the service would suit him. This gentleman of a certain age lived alone at home, with limited mobility. He was no longer able to go about his daily activities or meet his own basic needs without seeking the assistance of his relatives, neighbours and friends.
He was calling us to share how happy he was to feel independent; he could satisfy his food needs once again, without having to seek the assistance or the advice of anyone, and order exactly what he wanted to eat. The service offered him a nice respite from always having to ask for help, and he felt good with offering some respite to his family too.
