This is it! Our Iron Chef competition is back for a third year! It’s going to be huge!
This year, six teams of chefs will have one hour to harvest fresh produce from our Edible Campus Garden and cook up a feast LIVE on location.
Chefs from Rumi, Holder, Sala Rosa, La Khaïma, Fabergé, and a community team (Gabriel Couture and Cai Rintoul) will fight not only for the ultimate prize —the Iron Chef Trophy— but also for a place in the history books.
But that’s not all of it. These teams have all committed to raise at least $500 each to support our urban agriculture activities!
The competition will be graced not only by talented and generous chefs, but also by great judges. Media personality and food writer Daniel Pinard, reporter and columnist at The Gazette Susan Schwartz (@susanschwartz), Quebec scientist and author Dominique Forget, and Mari-Eve Savaria of BRUTalimentation will have the unique pleasure and responsibility of tasting and grading the entries from the competing teams.
There’ll also be live music by folk music collective Twin Voices to fill your heart, free food for your belly, drinks to cool you down (or warm you up), and as recommended by 9 out of 10 doctors, a dance party to get some sweating on!
But enough time spent helping you understand that you should be there. You don’t want to miss this, and so you need to know when and where it’s taking place:
When: Thursday September 6th, starting at 5pm
Where: Edible Campus Garden, Burnside Terrace, McGill University
Cost: Totally free!
If you’d like to volunteer for the event, or would like some more details, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Noémie by email or by phone at 514-284-9335.
