Presenting … (drumroll!) a brand new Santropol Roulant look that we’re super excited to share with you!
For the past 18 years we’ve proudly sported the original design of the Santropol Roulant logo on our backpacks, t-shirts and posters, but lately we’ve been dreaming about having an image that speaks more about the type of work that we do and what we’re all about. We wanted a logo that was more modern, captured our vibe, and conveyed the core aspects of our work: People, Food and Community.
In 2013 we were incredibly lucky to collaborate with designer Leon Lo who worked with us to bring out these core elements in a “Roulanty” way. With some input and ideas from volunteers, staff and other Roulant members, Leon used his insight and creativity to design a logo that we are proud to show off!
The image can be interpreted in different ways, as a fork and a leaf (representing our work in growing, preparing and distributing healthy food) or as a hand, extending outward or coming towards you, depending on your point of view (representing people who are doing things and sharing as a community). The circle is also up for your interpretation, as it can be seen as a food cycle, a bicycle wheel or a holistic approach to nourishment. You’ll also notice that there is a slight accent on Roulant since we sometimes refer to ourselves as the Roulant.
Logo transition begins now, and by January we will be using our new logo (in different colour combos) for all Santropol Roulant material. We hope that you like our new logo as much as we do, and would love to hear what you think! If you have any comments, positive or constructive, please share in the comments below or email Rachel.
