Board of Directors: Thank you Dave, Welcome Suzanne!

News, Volunteering - Personal

The Roulant’s Board of Directors recently experienced a transition, as Dave McNeil stepped down as Treasurer of the Board, and Suzanne Bourque was selected as a replacement.

Santropol Roulant’s Board is legally responsible for overall governance, and provides leadership, direction, and oversight for the development of long-term strategic plans and organizational policies. They’re also responsible for supporting the organization’s financial stability and approving the budget. Read more about the the Board and members here.

Dave has been a member of the Roulant community for many years, and was a very active bike mechanic volunteer in the early 2010’s, playing a major role in the development of SantroVélo as a volunteer-run collective.

For nearly four years, Dave dedicated his time and boundless energy as the Treasurer of the Board of Directors. In this role, he worked tirelessly to ensure the financial health and compliance of the organisation and patiently shared his knowledge with his colleagues on the Board and staff.

We are very sad to see him go, but excited about his new opportunities in California and certain he will stay in touch in the years to come. Thanks, Dave!

With the news of Dave’s departure, and still several months to go before our Annual General Meeting (AGM), we put out a call for applications and selected Suzanne as our new Treasurer. Suzanne will be up for election at our AGM at the end of March, and, to remain on the Board, will have to be voted in by Santropol Roulant members (anyone who has volunteered, donated, received a meal, or worked in the last 12 months).

Suzanne is currently helping approve the 2016 Roulant Budget, attending Board meetings, and assisting in financial matters. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA-CA) with 35 years experience financial, operational and audit management. She is excited about contributing to Santropol Roulant’s mission by sharing her in-depth knowledge of finance and budgets, as well as governance.

Welcome Suzanne!
