With the start of spring came the arrival of two corporate groups into our kitchen, our garden, and out into our community.
In late April, 19 employees from Transat headed over to our McGill Gardens to help us setup for the season. There was much lifting and shoveling as the Transat team worked with other volunteers to prepare the site for the beginning of the agricultural season. In addition to volunteering, the company made a generous donation to support our programs.
In mid-May, 8 employees from AOL joined our kitchen and delivery volunteers to help prepare and deliver the meal of the day (Creamy Salmon Pasta) to our clients of the Meals-on-Wheels Program. While the kitchen team peeled, chopped and sliced the morning away, the afternoon crew were split up into groups of two to three people, and each group was put in charge of a particular delivery territory and sent out on foot, by bus and by car with backpacks full of hot meals. AOL were also generous enough to make a donation to support our work.
A huge thank you to all those who participated – for both your hard work and generosity!
