A Little Background Information
About Social Entrepreneurship
The Roulant is happy to offer services the the community including the General Store, catering services, and the rental of our second floor. Funds from these services not only help us achieve our mission, but also provide the organization with greater financially stability and autonomy. By taking part in these activities and services, you support the Roulant’s mission and benefit from all they have to offer!
About the Food Preservation Program
We began the Food Preservation program as a way to reduce the waste of certain foods during the peak of the summer. We can only include so many tomatoes in our meals-on-wheels recipes! For the past 4 years, the program has gone beyond simply salvaging Montreal-grown produce that may have gone to waste, to include teaching hundreds of volunteers to can and ferment their own fruits and vegetables. This takes place in a spirit of empowerment, respect and friendship!
