The sun is finally shining to brighten our days, and with spring comes some changes to the Santropol Roulant meal delivery team.
Team manager Béatrice will be taking a sabbatical for the next six months, thanks to an innovative policy at Santropol Roulant designed to support employees in their personal projects and professional development. Béatrice is utilizing this policy to work on a vegetable farm for the season, and will be back to see you all this fall!
In the meantime, longtime Meals-on-Wheels coordinator Mike will be stepping into the role as acting manager, supported by Charlie and Celia, who will focus on coordinating the service for clients and for all the volunteers who make it possible.
This seasoned trio will be joined for the season by a new recruit: Niko. Niko may be a familiar face to the community, as they’re a longtime Roulant volunteer in the kitchen, at the farm and in the gardens, and at events. If you don’t know Niko yet, feel free to stop by and say hello—otherwise, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet them soon in the course of the Roulant’s summer activities!
Another piece of great news is that Ben, our Community Resources and Referral Coordinator, will remain in his position at least until spring 2027. Ben does invaluable work in the Roulant’s community space, improving inclusion and diversity at the Roulant by fostering close ties with visitors and the ecosystem of community services and partners of which we are a part.
In the coming months, Ben will continue to support Santropol Roulant in exploring the use of the Roulant as a third place, developing our internal expertise in interventions and referrals, and promoting diversity within the Roulant’s community life—all central elements of the organization’s 2025–2028 strategic plan.
The Meals-on-Wheels team wishes you a wonderful summer, filled with all the activities the Roulant has to offer: intergenerational events, free soup every Friday at the kiosque alimentaire/Friday Hang on the Terrasses Roy, and opportunities to get involved in our volunteer programs: from downtown to the Senneville farm.
Whether it’s everyday moments or special occasions, one thing is certain: it’s always magical to have the chance to share them with you!
