Welcome (and welcome back) agriculture workers

Agriculture, Featured, Senneville Farm, Staff

This season, the farm and urban agriculture program are welcoming new agriculture workers; Jez, Nadia, Lucy and Cleo. New farmhands Jez and Nadia will be facilitating volunteer shifts, pulling weeds, and harvesting beautiful fresh vegetables at the farm all summer long, while Lucy and Cleo will be joining the Roulant doing the same in our three urban gardens.

Jez is a longtime friend of the Roulant farm and its neighbours – in their work as a volunteer with farming non-profits Cultiv’action, Élèves des champs and Hamidou Horticulture. Jez is passionate about working with kids and about food security – making her a perfect fit for the Roulant farm!

Nadia has studied and worked in the West Island, meaning that she understands well the experience of food insecurity in that part of the city. Nadia was also co-president of the McGill Outdoors Club and ran the tractor pulling team (come ask her what that means).

Seasonal gardens facilitator Cleo also joins us this summer, with experience in urban gardens, farming, and community work. As a Roulant volunteer in the gardens and the Meals-on-Wheels program, Cleo may be a familiar face!

Lucy comes to us as a new graduate from McGill, and brings to the Roulant experience in working with youth as part of educational and art collective “Suppart”. Lucy is also the host of a radio show on CKUT!

In other exciting staffing news: the fundraising and communications team is excited to announce the return of Ashlee Gonsalves to the Roulant staff.

Ashlee started out at the Roulant in summer 2025 as a gardens facilitator and is now joining us as Fundraising and Communications Officer. As an illustrator, animator, gardener, and scientist, Ashlee is a true renaissance woman and we’re lucky to have her back at the Roulant!
